چکیده
Slope failures along road cuts and highways, occurring due to heavy rainfalls or earthquakes, pose significant threats people, vehicles, emergency plans. In the present study, a methodology assess stability of rock slopes at regional scale is proposed using kinematic analysis probabilistic limit equilibrium for plane sliding wedge failure modes. The workflow adopted described through its implementation main network island Thasos, located in northern Greece. On-site investigations measurements island’s formed basis study. results showed that joint sets, which were identified during on-site investigations, critical intersections could lead failures. utilized perform back-analyses sites water pressure effects probabilistically estimate material strength properties joints. Subsequently, numerous analyses executed within Monte Carlo simulation framework produce representative fragility curves against network, earthquake loading pressures.

A Preliminary Assessment of Rock Slope Stability in Tropical Climates: A Case Study at Lafarge Quarry, Perak, Malaysia
The stability analysis of rock slopes is a complex task for the geotechnical engineers due to the complex nature of the rock mass in a tropical climate that often has discontinuities in several forms, and consequently, in several types of slope failures. In this work, a rock mass classification scheme is followed in a tropical environment using the Rock Mass Rating (RMR) and Geological St...

متن کاملDamage to Buildings in Large Slope Rock Instabilities Monitored with the PSInSAR™ Technique
The slow movement of active deep-seated slope gravitational deformations (DSGSDs) and deep-seated rockslides can cause damage to structures and infrastructures. We use Permanent Scatterers Synthetic Aperture Radar Interferometry (PSInSARTM) displacement rate data for the analysis of DSGSD/rockslide activity and kinematics and for the analysis of damage to buildings. We surveyed the degree of da...
متن کاملFractal rock slope dynamics anticipating a collapse.
Time series of dilatometric measurements of relative displacements on rock cracks on stable and unstable sandstone slopes were analyzed. The inherent dynamics of rock slopes lack any significant nonlinearity. However, the residuals obtained by removing meteorological influences are fat-tailed non-Gaussian fluctuations, with short-range correlations in the case of stable slopes. The fluctuations...
